A trip to the park to work on disengagement

Today, after our agility training, me and Piper headed to the local park to work on his disengagement skills.
In recent months he’s become a lot braver - which is a good thing as I’ve been working on his confidence, however he’s now very into going deaf when little dogs are about and taking no notice when I ask him to stay with me.
So, off to the park with a high value toy, a treat pouch full of sausage and my voice lubricated for lots of happy vocal rewards.
What a ⭐️! With an assortment of dogs of varying shapes and sizes, he chose to stay and interact with me - we played tug, we played orientation, I raced him to his toy and asked him for all his favourite tricks!
Games based training and being fun works! If you’re struggling to get engagement with your dog when faced with an exciting environment, then let’s talk!
